Music from a Quieter Place

Blue Landscapes III: Frontiers

by Robert Thies & Damjan Krajacic

To be released March 2019

The music of Blue Landscapes III: Frontiers continues the tradition of the earlier albums both in its character and in its creation. With the exception of two previously composed works: Le Musicien and Goodbye, this music was improvised over the span of five days, and all sounds heard here were created acoustically by the flute and piano.  Though the music draws from the same spacious atmosphere and feeling of both of the previous Blue Landscapes collections, this album continues to explore different compositional approaches, metrically and texturally.

The music of Blue Landscapes is inspired and grounded by our love for Earth’s beauty and all of her natural wonders. Whether it be the motion of the seas, the majesty of the mountains, the rhythmic flow of the rivers and streams, the migrations of her creatures, or the mysteries of the forests, all feed the imagination. May we cherish and protect our planet for all the generations that follow.

And as always, it is our hope that this music will take you to a quiet and reflective space.

~ Robert & Damjan

The mountains are my bones,

The rivers my veins.

The forests are my thoughts,

And the stars are my dreams.

The ocean is my heart,

Its pounding is my pulse.

The songs of the earth write

The music of my soul.
